Learning pods popped up across the United States during 2020 because they solved several pain points about distance learning, including childcare needs for working parents and social interaction needs for kids.
Learning pods are small groups of students, many times six or less. They are run by either a parent or a hired teacher who oversees the students’ distance learning as well as complements the remote education.
But after a year of learning pods, many teachers are reporting they don’t want to return to the traditional K-12 school model.
