The last two years have shown us just how powerful teachers unions can be in shaping our nation’s education system.

But whose best interest do these unions really have at heart?

4,500 members of the Minneapolis Teachers Federation and Education Support Professionals are currently on strike to demand higher pay, better working conditions, and smaller classrooms.

As Jon Miltimore points out in his article for FEE, the mean salary for the average teacher in the district is already 98% above the national average.

So do these teachers really have your students’ best interest in mind, or their own bank accounts?
